This will include a campaign of search engine optimization with a lot of link building so the forum can rank well in search engines and get traffic that way. Another strategy is to trawl the internet looking for emails and contacts of people interested in the niche of the forum and send them an email on launch of the forum, or invite them to help you get it started. The use of Twitter and Facebook to target your keywords should not be overlooked. You can send your forum RSS feed to Twitter.
