The wild canines experience natural problems like hunger and the need to hunt to soothe the hunger. They must hide to protect themselves when they are sick or hurt after a fight with another canine or another animal. This is their natural bahavior and this particular nature was inherited by your own domesticated dog. She still needs to run; she still needs to overcome natural hurdles. It is in her instinct. Taking care of a dog does not mean giving food or water. It is much more. It is the same care you would give a child.
