Learn some excellent tips on avoiding the onset of diabetes
December 1, 2009
Make these seven actions in your daily routine and you could stop this disease from happening to you:
1) If you’re heavy you risk getting diabetes. Reduce the amount of food on your plate so you progressively eat less and begin to get rid of weight. Drink a glass of plain water or a sugar-free drink before your meal to take the intensity of any hunger pains.
2) Cut back the amount of fat you’re eating; grill or bake foods instead of frying; use low-fat spreads and reduced fat meals.
3) Check out the Glycemic Index of the food you’re eating – knowing what each food contains helps maintain your blood-sugars, that in turn might prevent the total onset of diabetes.
4) Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. If you keep a bottle of water with you and sip regularly you may be surprised how much you do drink throughout the day.
5) If you’re feeling peckish select a healthy snack instead of a chocolate bar.
6) Use skimmed instead of full-fat milk in hot drinks.
7) Working out is good for your health. However if you are not use to excercising then begin in moderation. 15 minutes light walking every day can ease you into a regular exercising pattern.
All of these activities are also those that diabetics are advised to take – if you’re taking them now you might possibly prevent permanent damage to your fitness.
