When choosing to buy an espresso machine, there are an awful lot of variable to take into consideration. These include the size and capacity of the machine, how many cups it will make and how often it might need cleaning. The automatic machines will take care of quite a lot of the work, but do they provide as good a cup of espresso?
There are three basic models and the original espresso makers were steam driven only. They were improved upon with the addition of a pump or lever driven pressure.
The basic models use steam pressure to drive water through the coffee grinds. The piston or lever model uses a piston to build up a head of steam and the pump versions use a mechanical or electric pump to do so. The basic principal remains the same though.
There are many companies which manufacture espresso machines. Some of them are – the Astoria based in America, Gaggia, . They all manufacture a range of espresso coffee machines to cater to hotels, restaurants, offices, commercial spaces and homes. But let’s face it – every one loves an Italian espresso machine.
