Isn’t MLM One of Those Pyramid Schemes?
June 25, 2009
This is a question that we often get asked. And the answer of course is “Definitely Not!” Though MLM and pyramid schemes may seem to share some similarities, there’s a BIG difference which makes MLM legal and pyramiding ILLEGAL.
In pyramid schemes, income is generated solely on the process of recruiting others into the pyramid. Sometimes a product or service of questionable value is involved, but you are most often buying into the right to recruit others and collect money.
This is illegal! Also, in pyramid schemes, those who get in first and are at the top win, while everyone else loses.
In a legitimate MLM company, representatives are paid only on the movement of products or selling of services, not merely recruiting.
Sometimes, there’s also compensation based on the training and managing of your marketing team.
Also, in an MLM company, no matter where you are positioned or when you joined, you can advance to the very highest income levels, and pass those who sponsor you.
Multi Level Marketing is nothing more that a business model that uses independent distributors with a multi level commission payout plan to move products from production to the consumer.
But you ask, “Isn’t the shape of an MLM organization similar to a pyramid?” And the answer to that question is yes, but that is true of all hierarchical organizations. For example, the shape of all normal businesses is in the shape of a pyramid. There is something like a President or CEO, several Vice Presidents, more Division Directors, Group Directors, and finally the workers that make up the bulk of the workforce. Each level down has more people at that level.
The same holds true for governmental departments, and the military. At the top of a governmental department, there is the Secretary, then Deputy Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries, heads of lesser groupings and then the mass of workers.
All these organizations are shaped like a pyramid, so it is not the shape of the organization that makes a difference. It has to do with the actual selling or not selling of products of value. If real products are being sold and consumed, and the movement of these products from production to the end consumer is the primary purpose of the business, then generally the company is a legal entity.
If the primary purpose of the company is to simply recruit more and more members and there is no real product of value being sold, then you have a illegal operation. Chain letters are an example of this kind of activity.
What makes a MLM company different from a traditional retail company is the manner in which the sales force is paid. In traditional retail and direct sales companies, the salesperson is a company employee and earns a commission on only the products he or she sells directly. In MLM companies the salesperson is not an employee of the company, but rather an independent distributor.
The magic of MLM is that independent distributors earn commissions not only for their own efforts, but also on the efforts of other distributors that they recruit into the business. Earning 1% of a hundred peoples efforts is always better than earning 100% on your own efforts, as John Paul Getty noted.
The term “multi level” comes from the process where by one distributor recruits other people to become distributors and the new distributors are placed under them in what is known as a downline. Each distributor is paid a retail commission on the products they sell themselves, and a wholesale commission on the products their downline sells (down to some designated level).
The larger downline a distributor can recruit, the larger will be his or her commissions as they will earn a wholesale override commission on all the products moved by their downline organization down to the designated level. These commissions can add up quickly for distributors with large downlines.
Nevertheless, a controversial new ebook has recently been published that reveals why prospecting and recruiting is actually destroying many MLM businesses… why a business opportunity is literally the last thing you want to be selling… and… how to make money REGARDLESS of whether you sponsor anyone in a MLM business or not! How to choice Blu-ray Copier

. Once you answer these initial questions you will be on the right path in making an informed decision.
The first question you need to answer is what type of product do you need to duplicate? Will they be CD Audio, Video CD or DVD, or Photo CD or DVD or combinations of data types? If you are a church ministry, audio recording is the norm, and with certain replicator this can be done while the sermon is in progress. This is also true for bands and musical groups that want to duplicate their own recordable DVDs or a live recording. These DVDs can be made “on-the-fly” with live event recorders featuring direct video input devices. Businesses and colleges that produce DVD catalogs use a combination – multi-media presentations, forms and even video. You’ll want to know the specific formats you anticipate duplicating so you can limit the duplicator models you consider to those that will support all of your required format types.
You should also try your best to estimate the number of recordable Taiyo Yuden DVD Media DVDs you’ll need to duplicate during some fixed time period. Be it a day, week, month or quarter, your volume requirements will play a very important role in narrowing down the universe of available models to the most appropriate ones. Certain DVD duplicating applications require very fast turnaround times for varying volumes of discs, while others have broad production windows with lots of advanced notice of the production requirement. Do you need to produce DVDs immediately after a meeting or recording session? Or do you have a longer window allowing you to mail out to customers? Short production window parameters will significantly narrow the list of appropriate duplicator models for you to choose, but if you have the luxury of long lead times, your options are fairly limitless.
What you want the physical disc to look like after it has been produced, and how it will be presented to the ultimate recipient of the disc is also important. Will you want a 4 color silk screen quality print on the surface of the disc to provide a professional look in a clear cover DVD DVD case? Maybe you want to include your brand and some simple text, or perhaps you don’t require any identification on the Media at all. Whichever the case, you’ll want to determine your requirements in this area before you start comparing duplicator types and models.
Who will be using the machines is another factor. Are you going to be asking the office manager or department secretary to copy DVDs just like you ask him or her to make copies of your monthly activity report on the photocopier? Or perhaps you have someone with a high level of technical expertise who is going to produce the CDs for the next point release? Either way, you need to give some thought as to who the “users” will be. You don’t want to invest in a product that’s too difficult to use…and therefore isn’t, or one that’s real easy to use, but as a result doesn’t provide all of the features that the power users need.
Another important point to consider is whether or not you want to limit or maximize access to the CD DVD Replicator.
Determine if your goal is to make it available to others just like any other office machine such as a fax or photocopier, or is it a tool that is better off locked where only authorized staff members can use it. Think this issue through before you make your purchase, and you’ll avoid any potential for buyer’s remorse

Are You Depressed?
June 23, 2009
Disclaimer: For serious depression issues, please consult a physician.
Depression is on the increase as people struggle with the economy’s woes. Worry about kids, jobs, illnesses, insurance benefits, and budget stressors can make the day gloomy.
What do we do about depression? For certain, today you probably won’t be able to fix the economy, and maybe many other problems you’re experiencing don’t have quick solutions. Even though today may not bring permanent answers to your day’s trouble spots, there are some things you can do about feeling gloomy.
The use of “self-talk” can be very beneficial. Practice until it becomes a daily habit. Normally, we tell ourselves all kinds of negative things all during the day and into the night. Your mental voice often says things like: “I’m stupid. Why did I do that? What’s wrong with me? I keep screwing up. No one accepts me. I look fat. I’m ugly. My hair’s a mess. I need a makeover. I’m not doing enough. My kids hate me. I’m not a good parent.” I don’t do my job right.”
We’ve got criticizing ourselves down quite well. What we need to do more of, is positive self talk that will energize us and change our mood. Not empty compliments, but really good advice. You CAN be your own best friend!
Saying things like:
“I am good enough, today; I do many things well; I may not be able to solve all the problems I am thinking about, but I can make some improvements on one or two. (Be specific in your head.); I can break complicated tasks or problems down into many smaller steps; I can clean one room tonight. I can get the laundry done, today; I will spend 1 hour with my child tonight; I am well-groomed; I look good; I can smile; I can focus on my job today; I can help someone else; I will sleep in a dark, cool room, I will listen to soft music that fades gradually into silence.”
The more specific we can be with our self-talk, the more we will feel in control of our lives, and the more control we feel, an increased feeling of joy will come over us. The list goes on. In fact, what we say to ourselves is endless.
Vow today, to: Lift yourself up!; Pay attention to your children!; Eat more nutritiously!; Take part in the community!; Join a club or organization!; Make time for yourself every single day; Clean the house. (A clean, organized home really does make you feel joyous!); Walk daily, just 15 minutes, in fact, start out with 10; Think of 3 new habits to develop, and begin small but begin! (i.e. do the dishes nightly; clean the tub nightly; read a chapter in an uplifting book, daily, talk to your kids individually, daily, talk to your spouse privately, daily.)
Practice the art of pretending. You can pretend to feel good, until you DO feel good. You’re worth it, vow to fight depression, to get that new job, to show your children how to cope with problems!
Do something different, today! I KNOW you can. Keep hope alive.
Householders insurance suppliers on the German market
June 23, 2009
Who should contract household inventory insurance? Every owner of a house and every tenant can protect themselves against the financial risk of damage of household contents. Here are some important aspects which should be considered when looking for the best German householders insurance supplier on the Internet:
You can save money by agreeing to a yearly payment for your household contents insurance. If you want to pay monthly or quarterly, some of the insurance companies will charge higher rates. By arranging a deductible you can reach nice savings concerning the premium payment. Damages caused by natural events such as floods, earthquakes and avalanches are dependent on the geographical region, and often result in a high number of individual claims. If you want to cover these natural hazards you should ask your household insurance provider for a special agreement. Almost all movable contents, which are in the household of the insured person, can be included in the insurance contract. These are furniture, clothing, electrical devices and also food supplies. Even bicycles can be put in the householders insurance and thus be insured against theft.
The rate of your household inventory insurance is dependent on the total value of your household contents, on the regional risk situation and inclusion of special risks. It is important to adjust the amount insured to the total value of your household items. Otherwise the insurance might pay only part of the eventual loss. The household insurance is useful for every owner of valuable household contents. It does not matter if you keep these items in your own house or if you are living in an apartment as a tenant. It is not necessary to visit all the German household contents insurance companies personally when looking for a good solution. You can get an online comparison and even contract your household contents insurance here: Hausratversicherung im Preisvergleich. Basically, the household contents insurance provides protection against damage caused by fire, theft, tap water, storm, hail and vandalism. Also flood damage and damage to electrical equipment by irregularities in the power supply can be included in the insurance coverage.
Wedding Photography Guide
June 22, 2009
You feel the pressure, and want to make sure you don’t mess up. Here are the top guidelines to help you from Jim Whitesell, a Edmonton wedding photographer:
1. Use the best equipment possible
A small point-and-shoot camera is fine for capturing family memories, but doesn’t do as well as a digital SLR with an external flash. The focus time, shutter delay, and limited reach of the small built-in flash will all cause problems for you. If you do not own or have access to a digital SLR camera and external flash, you can probably rent them from a camera store. Be sure to test and practice with the camera before the wedding day! A professional will likely have multiple lenses as well, but this is often beyond the ability of a casual shooter.
2. Take at least two memory cards
Although it doesn’t happen often, memory cards can fail. Keeping an extra card with you is cheap insurance that will keep you shooting if your card does quit working. Be sure the cards are of ample size so you don’t run out of space half-way through the night. 4GB is the minimum size you should have with you.
3. Batteries, batteries, batteries
Be sure to charge the camera batteries the night before, and preferably have a second battery charged and ready. Most external flash units use AA batteries so have a couple extra sets of these, too.
4. Attend the rehearsal
Taking pictures at the rehearsal is the best way to be prepared for the pictures you’ll take at the actual ceremony. You’ll have a feel for where to position yourself for the best shots. While a professional wedding photographer won’t usually shoot at the rehearsal, they will often show up to not only reassure the bride and groom that they are prepared for the next day but also to scope out the building. Their experience will enable them to know where the best shots are just by seeing the facility.
5. Posing the bridal party
When taking formal pictures of the bridal party, watch the details. Make sure everyone’s face is visible, and pay attention to the placement of hands and feet. Pleasing poses are key.
6. Shooting the ceremony
If the wedding will take place inside a church, you’ll need to shoot the ceremony without flash. Use a tripod to hold the camera steady or camera shake caused by longer exposure times will likely ruin the pictures.
7. Shooting the reception
If possible, try to get a shot or two of the reception hall before everyone arrives. Takes some shots of other details, too – like the head table decorations, cake, etc. Once things are underway, it’s always nice to go table-to-table and get pictures of all the guests.
8. Shoot the details
Take pictures of the little details. The rings, bridal bouquet, ring bearer, flower girl, bride’s shoes, etc. are all great details to capture and the bride will be quite pleased to have these.
9. Capture the fun
There are always fun, unplanned moments that make each wedding unique and memorable. Always have your camera ready to capture the moment!
10. Back up the photos
As soon as possible after the wedding, burn all the original images to a CD or DVD for safekeeping. Do this before you make any changes to them. If you accidentally delete an important picture or have a computer failure you’ll still have the originals to fall back on. Even a professional discount wedding photographer will make backups.
You have been given a very important task. The pictures are the best way to remember the wedding and all the fun details. Even though a professional wedding photographer will do a better job, those with limited funds may not have the ability to pay for one.
If you aren’t up to the task, why not go ahead and pay for all or part of a professional photographer’s fee as your gift to the newlyweds? And if you just happen to be near Edmonton, Alberta, why not check out Jim Whitesell’s website for wedding photographers in Edmonton.

Decorative cusions for your kitchen and home
June 21, 2009
Anyone who cares enough to select fine quality, well constructed chair cushions for the dining room or kitchen environment will surely earn a set of furniture which endures, gives more pleasure and comfort, and will need far less maintenance with passing time. You must take these things into account when choosing chair cushions for wooden chairs. Select the appropriate size of the seats – if the mattress is too tiny, it will be uncomfortable. If the size is too large it won’t look nice, plus the chair edges where the cushions overlap cause extra wear and shorten their lifespan.
Check closely to be sure that any ties are sewn securely into the seam of the cushion. When people sit and stand, chair ties take a lot of pulling and tugging. Ties have a much better chance of staying attached if they are sewn into the seam.
Buy seat cushions treated stain guard can be easily kept clean. Invest in a can of stain resist or stain guard if you find the perfect curtains that are not stain resistant. This makes it easier to keep them looking fresh and new. After all, this is your kitchen, and your kids eat here, right? You should choose a cushion that is either washable or removable, and can be washed. Some spills are going to soak in, even with stain guard. Your life will easier if you are able to put your chair cushions into the water. Be sure to pick cushions in a durable fabric, that is able to stand up to the wear of lots of seating.
The most durable fabrics include corduroy, denim, chintz, canvas and duck for cushions that will last a long time. Embellishments like rolled edges, piping or ruffles need to be securely sewn into the seam between the cushion’s top and bottom. Examine the full length of the seam for any gaps or breaks and pull gently on ruffles or piping to be sure they are fully attached. Cushions that are tufted look attractive, however, they aren’t that comfortable for sitting on for a long time. Should you select tufted cushions, make certain that any buttons are firmly sewn through all the the layers of the chair cushions, because it would be far too easy to lose buttons at the hands of a wiggly child.
Helpful Guidelines Homeowners Should Follow When Selecting The Highest Quality Memory Foam
June 20, 2009
It can be a little overwhelming to go shopping for a memory foam bed and mattress. There are so many choices available and so many new terms to learn that it can be hard to figure things out. The three most important things to look for include thickness, density, and temperature sensitivity.
Having some knowledge about each of these can help you choose the memory foam product that is best for you. Not all memory foam mattresses will feature temperature sensitivity. It is really one of the key elements of a memory foam product. The memory foam will not be as comfortable without it. If you can afford to buy a memory foam mattress that adjusts to the temperature you will be glad you made the investment.
This features enables the mattress to absorb some of you body heat and soften up to support the key problem areas of your body. When buying memory foam mattress bedding you need to find one with a thick enough layer of memory foam along the top. Look for one with at least three and a half inches of memory foam on the top. The mattress will not be as comfortable if the layer is too thin.
When looking at memory foam mattresses you will also need to think about density. The density of a memory foam mattress refers to the weight per cubic foot. Many people have differing ideas as to the correct density for memory foam. Often retailers will try and sell you memory foam with a three pound density.
Most people find they get better support for their hips, shoulders, and back with a mattress with a density of between five pounds and 5.9 pounds. Many find that products with a density greater than six pounds are not that comfortable. Only buy a memory foam product which includes a warranty. You can expect a high quality memory foam mattress to have a warranty of at least 20 years.
All About Cleaning Old Coins
June 19, 2009
You may think that old coins are just rubbish and they really don’t have any worth to them. Perhaps you could consider cleaning old coins. The best way for you to see what these old coins cost you, would be to take them to a coin dealer. It’s all about coin dealer course. Once you have gotten the advice from a coin collecting expert you will need to find a way of preserving the old coins. You should also be aware that there are many people who might feel the urge to tell you that by cleaning old coins that you are preserving them and driving up their value.
When you looked at coins you probably decided that the coins needed to be cleaned so that their full value would be able to be seen. While this may sound like a good idea, cleaning old coins can actually damage certain valuable characteristics that are needed for coin valuing. A coin expert should be able to inform you of the price that these coins you have are worth. Perhaps you would like to know how to clean coins yourself. This is very important to find out as these coin experts will have the knowledge and the experience in handling coins for various collection purposes.
Keeping your coins inside of a coin folder will ensure that they are in good condition. You must remember that many cleaning solutions will be harmful to the coins. The best recommended course of action would be for you to give your coins cleaned professionally.
If you are cleaning coins on your own, then you’re probably better off starting with a coin that isn’t valuable first. You can graduate to cleaning coins that aren’t worth a fortune, but which might conceivably fetch a handsome sum for you.
Most old coins just have some tarnish on their surface. This is one factor to consider when cleaning old coins. It reminds me of psychology. The advice that you will receive from these coin experts will let you know what you should do if you come into possession of any other old coins. With the experience of an expert, they can make sure that you get your old coins back in a condition that is valuable in the coin collecting world, and hasn’t been devalued due to cleaning old coins.
