Helpful Guidelines Homeowners Should Follow When Selecting The Highest Quality Memory Foam
June 20, 2009
It can be a little overwhelming to go shopping for a memory foam bed and mattress. There are so many choices available and so many new terms to learn that it can be hard to figure things out. The three most important things to look for include thickness, density, and temperature sensitivity.
Having some knowledge about each of these can help you choose the memory foam product that is best for you. Not all memory foam mattresses will feature temperature sensitivity. It is really one of the key elements of a memory foam product. The memory foam will not be as comfortable without it. If you can afford to buy a memory foam mattress that adjusts to the temperature you will be glad you made the investment.
This features enables the mattress to absorb some of you body heat and soften up to support the key problem areas of your body. When buying memory foam mattress bedding you need to find one with a thick enough layer of memory foam along the top. Look for one with at least three and a half inches of memory foam on the top. The mattress will not be as comfortable if the layer is too thin.
When looking at memory foam mattresses you will also need to think about density. The density of a memory foam mattress refers to the weight per cubic foot. Many people have differing ideas as to the correct density for memory foam. Often retailers will try and sell you memory foam with a three pound density.
Most people find they get better support for their hips, shoulders, and back with a mattress with a density of between five pounds and 5.9 pounds. Many find that products with a density greater than six pounds are not that comfortable. Only buy a memory foam product which includes a warranty. You can expect a high quality memory foam mattress to have a warranty of at least 20 years.
