Portion Control – The Easy-Does-It Way
March 26, 2009
Let’s face it – it’s easy to feel picked on if you’re serious about a portion control diet. In fact, eating the right portion size is one of the hardest things about dieting. You can spend hours, or even days, reading all the available literature about the right foods to eat.
But will you lose weight if you eat too much, even too much of the right foods? Unfortunately, no.
In fact, reading to find exactly the right diet can actually be kind of fun. Authors of most diet books put a lot of effort into making the whole process seem do-able. They want you to succeed, just as much as you do.
But what these authors can’t overcome is the feeling of being picked on when you sit down at the table with food sitting in front of you that you can’t eat. You put a small portion on your plate, and when you’re finished the other members of your family are reaching for seconds – but you know that’s forbidden for you. That feeling that you’re not being treated fairly (by yourself, no less) is one of the reasons that so many diets fail.
Author Jonni Good figured out a way to make portion control easy. She realized that it’s almost impossible to turn down a larger helping of your favorite food when it’s offered during a meal – but it’s easy to serve yourself just the right amount if you use her simple easy-does-it once-a-month cooking system. If you fill 20 or 30 meal-sized containers at one time, and really load them up with delicious low-calorie, filling veggies, all the will-power is taken care of for you in advance of every meal.
Just like the frozen diet meals you buy at the store, only better tasting, and without all the weird chemicals. And with lots more veggies, vitamins, and fiber. Your own home-cooked frozen meals even help you save money, too.
Portion control made easy, so you don’t feel picked on when you sit down for your meal.
Best Diet For Fat Loss For Safety Sake
March 26, 2009
There’s no question that a lot of people should shed a few lbs. Look about where folk gather, you’ll notice the excess fat. Don’t laugh. Regrettably you’re probably to see it in the mirror too. When your aim is to determine the best diet for fat loss, keep a couple of simple matters in mind to shed the excess weight quickly and safely.
When individuals would like to lose weight one of the most frequent things they do is to miss meals. It is common sense, okay, reduce the calories by ingesting one less meal. Doesn’t dropping the weight come with eating less calories? That’s right on but omitting meals isn’t the best process to cut back on calories. Your body thinks it’s being starved when you omit meals. It goes into starvation mode. It begins to retain fat to counteract what it perceives as being starved.
When you skip meals you will end up famished at the following meal. The outcome is binge eating. Missing a meal plus binge eating, then, will likely result in eating further energy and the body gaining even more fat from those calories than usually. It’s the worst of both worlds. Do not omit meals. Do not do it.
Have a plan on how much to consume. Portion control is just as important as consuming the right food. Over much of even a healthy food still results in weight gain. Portion control isn’t easy when large helpings are so common. Restaurants serve overly large helpings, as do most individuals at home. Sources such as the FDA list recommended daily allowances. Be mindful of portion size when you eat at restaurants, peculiarly fast food restaurants. Do not eat the total serving dished up at the restaurant, or order less than a full meal, such as soup and a salad.
Chew on more whole grain items, omit the white grains such as white bread, sugar and white rice. Complete grains are rich in nutrients and reduced in fat. The fiber in whole grains will make you feel fuller quicker and stay contented longer. Also complete grains contain much food value that are often wanting in people’s diets.
Drink more water. Substitute fruit juice and soda pop with water since fruit juice and soda adds 90,000 calories to an average person’s diet every year. Drink water between meals too. The aim is 8 cups of water every day. It seems like a lot, but it is not. Drinking water helps health in the main by keeping you well hydrated and assisting to avert overheating.
Chew on nutrient rich snacks between meals. The organic structure requires nutrients every three to four hours to maintain right blood sugar. Consuming healthy snacks, such as fruits, aid in controlling eating at meal times.
Detecting the best diet for fat loss to lose weight isn’t inconceivable with a bit knowledge and preparation. Keep these matters in mind and pretty soon you’ll see a trimmer you when you look into a mirror.

Nutrition For Active Dogs – Supplements To Help Your Working Dog
March 25, 2009
Antioxidants are substances that control oxidation or reactions promoted by oxygen, peroxides, or free radicals. Simply what that means is that when your dog whether they moderately active or intermediatly to highly active dogs exercise regularly or intensly their bodies increase the amount of free radicals( produced in the body by natural biological processes or introduced from an outside source (as tobacco smoke, toxins, or pollutants) and that can damage cells, proteins, and DNA by altering their chemical structure) and oxidative damage to the body. Antioxidants are necessary to any dog’s diet regardless of breed or activity level. Antioxidants are also going to boost the immune system, promote coronary and vascular health, as well as improve circulation! Antioxidants can be found in fruits and vegetables that are rich in colors. Antioxidants can also be found in supplements such as Vitamin C, E, flavenoids, and Beta Caratene. You will definitely want to take a peek at these dog crates right now for your pet. The pet needs one of these badly.
Vitamins and Minerals are a no brainer! It is common sense that your dog needs them in order to be healthy and making sure your dog is getting the essentials means more than reading commercial dog food labels! Increases in activity and exercise means more demands for Vitamins C and B-Complex. These two vitamins are two major players to the team of Healthy Dog! Vitamin C supports the immune system and Vitamin B- Complex is going to give your dog healthy skin, muscles, and blood. In alot of high quality commercial dog foods already come enriched with many vitamin and minerals but there are also natural foods that should be added to their diets. If you are still unsure that your dog is not getting their vitamins and minerals or they have a sensitivity to some natural food sources, then always consult with your veterinarian and he or she should be able to give you vitamin and mineral supplements that are for dogs!
Right off, you wouldn’t think that fruits and vegetables would be foods you’d give your dog. Dogs by nature are carnivores but they also can tolerate some fruits and vegetables added to their diets. There are even some owners of whom are vegetarians that provide their beloved pets with vegetarian diets as well. Fruits and vegetables are just as high in vitamins and minerals as organ meats(livers, kidney,ect.). Not every dog though will embrace vegetables and fruits added to their diets so you will want to get a pill supplement. If your still a little confused on how to use pill supplements for vitamin and minerals here is a good guide: Small dogs should take 50 mg of Vitamin C per day and 500 mg for large dogs. B-complex vitamins should contain 4-5 mg of niacin for a dog weighing 35 lb. You will also want to view these products right now for your dog. Take a look at dog pajamas right away for your doggie. Your dog really needs these items, pick them up today!
Probiotics and Enzymes, just to hear those words probably has you thinking of some sort of lab experiment, huh? Well I assure you they are much more simpler than that! When your dog eats, as he chews the digestion process has already started! Saliva and enzymes in the mouth and stomach are already dispatched to break down the food. Not all foods react well with your dog’s system. So to combat vomiting, diarrhea, and other stress related digestion disorders, Probiotics and Enzyme supplements is the answer! What these two combinations do for your dog is they replace the depleation of enzymes that your dog loses when they exercise, are sick, environmental issues such as pollution, pregnacy, stress, or even accidents can cause your dog to have a depleation of enzymes. Probiotics and Enzymes are best given in the form of a chewable tablet but can also come in powders. Again, this is a great topic for your veternarian who can help steer you to a great product as well as give you a food list to incorporate in your dog’s diet.
Fatty acids aren’t acids like acid in the stomach, but are sequences of strings of carbon molecules linked with single or double bonds. The location of the double bond determines whether it’s called an Omega 3 or an Omega 6 fatty acid. Omega 3 fatty acids have the first double bond at the 3rd carbon: ALA (alpha linolenic acid), EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Omega 6 fatty acids have the first double bond at the 6th carbon: LA (linoleic acid) and GLA (gamma linolenic acid). Whew! That is a lot you probably didn’t learn unless you took biochemistry! Don’t worry, basically Omega 3s are unsaturated fats that are found in most green leafy vegtables, eggs, fish, and other sources. Your dog can either get their Omega 3s in an enriched high quality dog food, a raw diet, or in a supplement! These are really important for your dog’s hormonal health and for the health of their hearts. Omega Fatty Acids are going to give your dog longevity, increased intelligence because the neurons in their brains are going to fire and be more productive, a reduction in many health related conditions such as arthritis, atopia, and cancer, and the list goes on! From anything physiological to emotional and behavioral health; Omega’s will have your dog covered! Excellent sources of Omega-3 include cod liver oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil, and animal sources. These are essential to add to your beloved canine companion’s diet!
As you can see, adding supplements whether naturally in food sources or in pill or powder forms are essential for their overall health and wellbeing. By utilizing supplements and healthier foods you are giving your pet the very best in care and you are giving them a longer life!

How to get what you want in cell phones
March 25, 2009
1) Comparison shopping. Both online and offline. Brick and moter stores and online stores often have different prices for the same phones or phone plans. This is where comparison shopping comes in to play. Find a service provider and visit their store or mall booth. Then check their website. You might be surprised to learn that the prices are not identical. It only makes sense. There is no overhead involved in an online store and if the customer does everything himself, prices should only be lower.
2) Go for the free phone. Some cell phone service providers will give you a free phone if you sign up with their service. Some won’t. We’ve found that getting a free phone can be really cool due to the fact that sometimes the service provider will give you a state of the art phone for no upfront charge just to get you to become their lifetime customer.
3) Use Ebay. Some people sell their slightly used phones for great bargains online if you are willing to spend the time and wait for a good deal to popup. I’ve been in love with a Nokia phone for about 6 months now and am waiting for a real discounted phone to be put up for auction on Ebay. A lot of the service providers will activate your phone if you bring it in to their store (regardless of where you bought it).Unlocked cell phones are really the best in the long run as you can keep the same phone for various providers.Motorola unlocked cell phones are my favorite..
There are ton of cool tricks to getting a cell phone deal. These are just 3 basic common sense ones, learn ‘em all today and get a killer cell phone deal.
Peters and Premier Racing finish 6th at Daytona
March 24, 2009
Danville, VA-2.18.09- Timothy Peters in the #17 Hayes Iron & Metal/Strutmasters.com Toyota entered the first race of the season with one goal in mind: finish in the Top-10 at Daytona. Call it a successful weekend. Not only did they finish in the Top-10, but their 6th place finish was their best result in the new team’s history. Their previous best 10th place finish was earned at Martinsville Speedway on October 18th, 2008. The new-found success was not a surprise to the team owner Philip Hudgins, “I knew that our manufacturer support from Toyota would play a huge role in taking this team to the next level. I think Timothy and the team drove a smart race, showing the fans that this team will be a contender for the win at the upcoming races.”
The weekend started out at Thursday’s practice as the team made significant adjustments to the truck to improve its balance and prepare for qualifying under the lights on Friday evening. “We took a conservative approach in practice, but we knew the track conditions were going to be good when the truck was in race trim during the event,” commented crew chief Chad Kendrick. He added, “We were committed initially to just making the race; we knew we’d have a chance to make the truck handle better during the race.”
The #17 team entered pole qualifying outside the Top-30 in owner’s points, which meant they had to qualify on time for the event. The conservative approach paid off handsomely with Peters wheeling the #17 Hayes Iron & Metal/Strutmasters.com Toyota to an impressive 18th spot on the starting grid. “I knew I had one chance to make a solid lap, and the set-up on the truck gave me the confidence to put it solidly in the field.”
Under a picturesque Florida sunset the #17 truck started the NextEra 250 Truck Series race with a driver full of confidence and a team set to make their mark in the 2009 season. As the race progressed Peters skillfully avoided wrecks that took out many of the top contenders before the halfway point of the race, including reigning truck series champion Johnny Benson. As the race went on, Peters pressed on to the front of the field, reaching 9th place by lap 60. On lap 67 Brent Raymer slammed his truck into the outside wall. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured in the crash, but this brought out a caution which enabled Peters to make a final pit stop and set up for his charge to the front.
As the green flag flew for the restart on lap 70, Peters restarted in the 18th position and began to pick off one truck at a time. By lap 90, with trucks bouncing off one another, Peters was able to advance to the 9th position. In the closing laps Peters mounted a final charge, passing three tucks to cross the line with a hard-fought 6th place finish.
In post race comments, Peters was quick to praise his team and his sponsors for giving him the opportunity to be a contender at Daytona, “I have to thank all the guys on the crew for putting in so much hard work in the off-season. Without the support of Hayes Iron & Metal, Strutmasters.com, Toyota and our newest sponsor, Hair of the Dog Energy Drink, we would not even be here tonight. With this team sitting in the Top-10 in points, I can’t wait to get to California for the next race.”
Wooden toys: Natural Joy For Kids

Do you want to be a model railway train driver
March 23, 2009
If you have ever wanted to be a railway train driver but never got around to it because you grew up and real life got in the way, you were forced to get a proper job and your loco dreams were forced into the background, well I am pleased to say I have the next best thing to being a train driver and that is to have my own model railway trains.
It is not the sort of train set you had when you were a kid, although the principles are the same, instead it is a railway track set up with locos and accessories, that include people standing at the stations, I also have 5 stations in my set up and each one is individually made so it looks and feels different from the station before.
My railway lines also go through distinctly different scenery, I have it set so that the journey goes from a city center location through rural countryside down to the coast.
The city scape is made up of tall skyscrapers and wide roads crammed with people walking and cars in gridlock and flowing along until the buildings get smaller and slowly the countryside emerges from the sprawl of the houses in the suburbs, with cows and sheep in the fields and the roads becoming small and winding.
The countryside gives way to the coastline, with craggy rocks and sandy beaches with people relaxing under the spotlight I have set up to represent the light of the sun.
All right I know it is not the same as driving that train but when you can create a whole journey in your loft making the scenery and adding in places you know then it has to be the next best thing.
Why you should UseHTML Web Design
March 23, 2009
Web design is an great visual aspect of this, but what good is a spinning logo if no one can find the information or product they are looking for? Web design is not book design, it is not poster design, it is not illustration, and the highest achievements of those disciplines are not what web design shoots for. Although websites can be delivery systems for games and videos, and although those delivery systems can be lovely to look at, such sites are exemplars of game design and video storytelling, not of html web design. Web Design Schools Guide is your home for finding the best web design schools and web design program for your needs. We maintain one of the most extensive sets of reviews of web design degree programs and online web design schools as well as a regularly updated web design school ranking.
Web design is usually the first stage of a project. At this point, the project is not a web site at all, but layers of pixels within a graphics package. Web designers CT for real estate advertising online dental practice sites re-designs. Web design companies will be able to handle images, their size and placement.
Flash should not be used to jazz up a page. If your content is boring, rewrite text to make it more interesting and hire a professional photographer to shoot better photos. Flash is not a standard produced by a vendor-neutral standards organization like most of the core protocols and formats on the Internet. Flash is much more self-contained than the open HTML format as it does not integrate with web browser UI features.
Search engines cannot read flash. They cannot read javascript, or images. Search Engines use extremely complicated algorithms to calculate their interpretation of the suitability of web pages to display when a search is requested. These algorithms are not known to anyone outside of the Search Engine’s highest echelons and cannot accurately be predicted or foreseen, as they are also regularly changed or adjusted.
HTML web design needs to factor both different resolution sizes and browser types, as different web browsers interpret HTML and CSS differently. For example, Firefox and Internet Explorer do not agree on the size of a pixel. HTML web design templates’ sole drawback is their modification can be rather complicated for normal users. A great site can be accomplished using web templates, and free downloads are available on the web.
