Wedding Unity Candles And Its Purpose
March 28, 2009
When I was a child and attending wedding, I was always fascinated by unity candle set. I would see the two married couple take two different flames and light a single candle. I thought that was so neat and so sweet. Only after I grew up did I understand what I really meant. It is supposed to symbolize the union of the two different people into one single entity. And with the flame burning brightly, it does just that.
When I tried to shop for unity candles in the store, they were very hard to find. So based on a suggestion of a friend, I tried to shop online. I found an assortment of unity candle set. I like how you can have your name, place of marriage and date and gloss onto the candle itself. It sure makes a great keepsake of the big wedding day. I asked my husband to be what color he wants it. But he really does not care. Since the color of my wedding is blue, I think a light gray unity wedding candle with baby blue wording would look great. Not all I need is to find those long matches to light the unity candle when the big day comes.
