Becoming a Life Coach

August 18, 2008

Lately, I’ve been reading about becoming a life coach. I need a change and want to do something that helps others achieve their goals while fulfilling mine. It doesn’t hurt that one can make a great living as a life coach.

Who wouldn’t want to be able to work when they wanted to and from where they wanted to? You can’t beat a perq like that. I’m sure you can agree that sitting at a desk all day, day after day can get to you.

Plus the added bonus of helping others in a way that you just can’t get at most jobs. I mean there is a reason that most people don’t get excited about accounting.

Now I just need to figure out the process of becoming a coach and the best way to start a coaching business. I’m feeling up to the challenge after I lost all that weight. Being able to manage such rapid weight loss in a safe and sane way is very empowering.

I’ve been looking into certification also but I’m not sure that it is really necessary in the beginning. I’m thinking I can get started and revisit certification later on. I’m pretty sure I can get my foot in the door so to speak with the books I have and with the resources on coachville.com.

Coachville has some pretty good info for free and they offer a path for certification as I grow into the role.

Wow, this turned out to be longer and more rambling than I planned but it helped me get my thoughts together.

Enough talking, time to get started…
