Diets That Actually Work

August 17, 2008

Finding a diet that actually works is probably easier than you think, however it requires a change of thinking so that you stop looking for a short term answer to a long term problem.

Let me clarify that for you.

Most people think of diets as something that have a start and an end point, when simply this is not true.

Your diet is something you do every single day by the food that you eat. Goodness if you can get that you are nearly there to cracking your weight problems.

And thats why fad diets don’t work because when you do a one in your mind because of the way you have been conditioned to the word diet you think about a start point and a FINISH point. And it’s the finish point that is the danger, because lets just say your goal was to lose 28 pounds, you do that and you have reached your goal and in your head you have FINISHED your diet. So what do you do now? 9 times out of 10 you go back to your old eating habits and regain the weight, plus a bit extra for good measure.

Does that sound familiar? The key to permanent weight loss is to make a decision for you that you want to lose the weight for you and not for anyone else, and then once you have made that decision, set about learning about your food and what you eat so that your getting within your correct calorie intake.

And I’ll give you a little tip, learning about your food is not so much science as common sense, admit it you know when you are eating something crap - you just need to break the habit.

Do this as your first stepping stone and you will be on your way to finding a diet that actually works for you.
